NAE president Ted Haggard looks to youth leaders to reach the next generation with the gospel. Speaking to Mission America Coalition, he said (here), “The youth pastors are some of the most important leaders in the city.” “It doesn’t matter if we protect the definition of marriage in this generation if the next generation doesn’t have a clue what marriage means,” he said. The NAE president affirmed the need for the Church to work together. “If we do it on our knees…we can see this generation saved,” Haggard affirmed.

Beyond our return to prayer, we also need to return to Christ-centered, biblical ministry that focuses on expositional preaching and instructs the next generation in the word of the cross instead of the next cool version of “chubby bunny.” Evangelicals need call on ministers to preach the word with conviction and authority, serving this generation in the Spirit of humility that drove Jesus to the cross and depending desperately on the Spirit of power that raised Him from the grave.
