David Rogers up against Jim Richards for 1st VP June 5, 2007

Earlier this month SBTC Executive Director Jim Richards was nominated by Mac Brunson for 1VP of this year’s SBC. Today, David Dykes, pastor of the BGCT church, Green Acres, in Tyler, TX, announced missionary David Rogers as his nominee for the same position.
Reporting on his blog, Sam Hodges (DMN) explains, “David Rogers . . . has joined his mother – Adrian Rogers’ widow – in questioning what they see as an ever-narrowing definition of what’s acceptable in Baptist belief. That’s a windy way of saying they may think the conservative resurgence has gone a little too far.”
